quilting accomplished

Tonight I FINISHED QUILTING a quilt that's been in the works for a very long time! Ok, so I haven't actually finished binding it YET, but maybe soon (I've quit imagining timeframes and goals of when I'll finish projects... see if you can figure out why!)
This picture is from awhile back- when I finished piecing the top but hadn't added the border.

And this is my borrowed hand-crank sewing machine. Here you can see me piecing the top of the quilt with the machine. And here I am drawing on the design that I intended to quilt...

... and a little rascal was bugging me for awhile while I was trying to finish the quilt.
and it's not the rascal you might think it is, because this quilt has taken me more than 4 years to bring to this point, and it's not even done yet!!!
Not to get too discouraged about old projects - I have to remember that last summer I pieced a second quilt in a couple of weeks at my in-laws' house, and last week I finished a very little quilt that I made in just one week and sewed completely by machine (I'll post pictures of that one sometime). Just wanted to share the big news that yes, indeed, I finished the quilting part of Will's quilt!! :)
(p.s. all of the above pictures are from jan 2007)

Good for you, Joie! I am still only TALKING about making Ruthie's quilt... I love finishing projects... it is even better than finding them, again...
Love you!
