Some favorites from our time in Korea

Here are most of my favorite pictures from our trip to Korea. And as usual, I realize now that we didn't take pictures of lots of great things that were part of our trip. Oh well. Here's a glimpse anyway:

We went to a Korean Folk Village and got to see a lot of neat things. I thought these guys were neat - they wear hats with long tassles on them and then dance around swinging the tassles around in giant circles. I told Nate I'd get him one so he could hop around for me at home! :)

This is how we travelled most of the time - the kids in the double stroller- and L pushed it most of the time.

I love this picture of L showing Will how the guys are using the binoculars at the Korean War Memorial. The picture above this is a close-up of the binocular guy they're looking at.

This was a detour we took that made me happy - we just wandered in a neighborhood in Seoul and I enjoyed just seeing some of how people live there.
On the 4th of July, we got to go in a helicopter that was on display. Here we're in the helicopter cockpit!
And these kids are just hanging out in the helicopter.
I like this picture of Will enjoying Korean food- it was DELICIOUS!
One day, we got to play Mini-golf: this picture captures us all pretty well, I think: Nate showing Will how to get the ball in the hole; Annie figuring she could just put it in the hole-if that's where it's supposed to go; me behind the camera; L taking it all in patiently; J happy to just veg in the stroller; N responsibly making sure that we weren't holding everyone else up!
I love this pose of my golfing girl!
Lots of times, we went to the playgrounds, which the kids loved.
Oh, I wish I had taken more pictures of these three together- they just loved playing together!
4th of July listening to a band play.
Annie and Pappa.
I got to go into the big jumping thing with my kids and hop around- it was so fun to see them both giggle with such joy at bouncing so high.
It sure was fun to hang out together!
ahhh- the DMZ. Here are all of us tourists listening to the army dude tell us everything he knows.
And here I am in n. Korea. yup.
This picture makes me laugh- Nate and I happened upon some musical cultural group that was performing at an old palace. These guys were all dressed so funny and I got a picture with them in true Korean fashion (except I think I forgot to put my two fingers up in a peace sign like a proper Korean tourist) . :)
Back in the apartment we stayed at, Nate and the kids fed the fish every day- Annie especially loved this.
Will got his fill of noisy, exciting, awesome toys.
But sometimes it was just fun to stand and stare out the window since we were on the 7th floor and there was so much to look at.
Will also soaked up quite a bit of DVD time (he's on the couch watching the tv in this picture). It was an incredible gift to get to stay in this place.
And we had lots of time with our relatives. N impressed us all with his RC helicopter:
I got to eat the most yummy lettuce/meat/cheese/mustard sandwhiches and LOTS of other yummy food. and then we had to say goodbye. :(
We hopped in a nice bus and drove off to the airport.
(Annie didn't like being buckled down) And here, Nate is telling me to put the camera away before it gets confiscated. But I don't think anyone cared about me taking these shots. I liked how Annie happily sat in the purse compartment, and everytime we could, we took the moving sidewalks. Will insisted that most of the time we 'tand till' (stand still), so here's a picture of how it looked:

And finally we were on that morning train in Delhi. Annie helped Pappa with his sudokus...
Will tried to sleep...
Then, to pass the time, I tried to teach Will how to make silly faces. This is one of his better silly faces (I don't think he really figured out what we were trying to do, but it was funny anyway).
It was a great trip!

Yay, Joie! I'm glad you all had a great time! :~) I especially liked the one of the neighborhood street ... you know how sometimes, pictures bring back "scent memories"? That's what that one did for me!
