Detta är Dagen

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I took the kids for a walk to visit some friends this week. It was nice to get out and walk, and the monkeys didn't even bother us. Will hung out with his friends while I got some nice mom time with two other moms.
On another note, Christmas is coming and this year we will have a tree. This week I cut up a saree, sewed pieces together, and stuffed it with all sorts of ugly scraps of fabric (see the picture below) to make an advent calendar /Christmas tree. We're looking forward to spending Christmas here at home and watching our kids enjoy the ways we celebrate Jesus Christ's birth. Then we'll head south for about 4 weeks to enjoy the warm beach and time with friends. The traditions we grew up with have just started to be a lot of fun to keep with little kids around to soak them up.

Hello, Burchells!
Jake and I were looking at your blog and Jake said "I want to go play with that friend" (talking about Will). Aww! I hope you all are well; know that we are thinking of you often!
